I use Diagrams to organise my ideas, thoughts, and things I have learnt. It is funny to use diagrams because they are usually associated with facts and science. My diagrams may not be fact. They are mapped ideas and feelings, I like using something serious like diagrams with lightness. I find pencil drawings are honest and transparent - all the marks are there whether intended or not. No real completion and closure, there’s directness from my head to paper.
Text and lettering
I have loved lettering since learning how to draw bubble letters was my jam. Hand drawn text gives personality, directness, and charm to the lines which form words. In a world filled with computer generated typography it is fun to draw it back. I choose quotes, and conversation which I want to remember. I am interested in the power that words have over our lives.
I experiment with colour and how it carries meaning using acrylic, water colour, and household wall paint. Creating abstract large and small scale wall art with a home deco feel. You can always contact me for custom orders and commissions which is a super fun process!
I enjoy mixing hand-drawn elements with computer illustration and photography.
